Homeownership

Habitat for Humanity’s affordable homeownership program provides opportunities for qualifying homebuyers to purchase new or renovated homes with an affordable mortgage.

Housing Counseling & Financial Education

Habitat for Humanity offers one-on-one pre-purchase / homebuying counseling and group education opportunities focused on financial literacy, home affordability, budgeting, and understanding and using credit.

Home Repairs

Do you own your own home but need assistance with repairs, weatherization, or accessibility? Home Preservation services may be able to provide assistance with affordable maintenance on your home.

Tool Lending Library

The Tool Lending Library, located at the E. Euclid ReStore in Des Moines, provides an opportunity for homeowners to become a member and borrow the tools necessary to repair or beautify their own homes.

About Habitat for Humanity’s programs in Warren County

Warren County Habitat for Humanity and Greater Des Moines Habitat for Humanity are excited to announce the merger of the two affiliates. The merger will provide access to greater resources to serve Warren County, as well as allow Warren County HFH’s committed volunteers to focus on doing what they love: building affordable homes in their community.

Warren County HFH leaders approached GDM Habitat for Humanity to explore a merger, allowing the mission to continue while giving long-time volunteers and leaders the ability to refocus and/or step back. The merger plan was reviewed and approved by Habitat for Humanity International in Spring 2026. GDM Habitat for Humanity has become the legal entity serving Warren County on behalf of Habitat for Humanity, and the newly unified organizations look forward to continuing and building on existing relationships with local volunteers, donors, and contractors.
