To help address the increasing need for affordable housing, Greater Des Moines Habitat for Humanity is launching Pawlunteers, a first of its kind volunteer program exclusively for pets.
Greater Des Moines Habitat for Humanity has always been a leader in housing innovation. From the first Panel Build that brought the build site to volunteers, to our recent multi-family builds across the Metro, weā€™ve never been afraid to innovate and think bigger ā€” and what could be bigger than expanding Habitat for Humanity beyond Humanity?
Good Boys Doing Good in the Community
We are currently accepting volunteer applications for skilled dogs, cats, birds, small mammals, and reptiles. For their safety, as well as the safety of all Pawlunteers, applicants must be well-groomed and up to date on their shots. At this time, opportunities are not available for fish, but our team is working on ways to safely engage aquatic companions in the future, both on our construction sites and in our ReStores.
Pets with experience in construction are preferred, but exceptions may be made depending on cuteness.
