House Construction Coordinator

Responsibilities:

• Help welcome, organize, and direct volunteers on the house construction sites
• Provide on-site leadership serving as a crew leader to effectively utilize volunteers
• Assist the Director of Construction to prepare the sites and ensure the proper tools and materials are ready for volunteers
• Assist in volunteer orientation and safety talks
• Help construction staff plan and prepare for upcoming construction activities

Qualifications:

• Good working knowledge of all facets of construction (or a willingness to learn them)
• Ability to communicate the construction process to skilled and unskilled volunteers
• Flexible schedule
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Sound understanding of the Habitat philosophy
• Patience to explain and teach various tasks

Volunteer Coordinator and Resource Developer

Responsibilities:

• Recruit and schedule new volunteer groups and individuals
• Develop materials for communicating the Habitat mission
• Evaluate feedback from volunteers regarding their volunteer experience
• Update volunteer records
• Maintain communication with past volunteers

Qualifications:

• Understand the Habitat philosophy and work to promote it
• Ability to work well with others
• Comfortable speaking to groups of volunteers
• Organized and proactive
• Volunteer experience is helpful
