Greater Des Moines Habitat for Humanity Honored with Aurora Award

We gratefully accept this honor on behalf of the thousands who have answered the call to build hope and a ‘greater’ Des Moines through the greater Des Moines habitat for humanity program.

For the staff and board of our organization the past few years have been truly humbling as we have had the joy of witnessing a community come together to partner with those in need.

Last year was our sixth consecutive year of growth, this year will be our seventh, and with each year, more volunteers and more donors give of themselves to build hope and a brighter future for the children of Des Moines.  To our way of thinking, nothing more clearly embodies Iowa’s heritage or Iowa’s values than helping another family build their home, helping another family achieve their dreams.

We at Greater Des Moines Habitat are privileged to view these values at work every day, and are privileged to accept this award on behalf of all those who have picked up a checkbook or a hammer and built hope.
