Information About AmeriCorps

The AmeriCorps program puts idealism to work by placing committed volunteers/members in more than 900 nonprofit programs nations wide.  The program is very much like the Peace Corps, however, all members serve within the United States and its territories.  The positions that are available change frequently, so check back often!

Summer AmeriCorps VISTA Information Each AmeriCorps*VISTA member will work full-time for ten weeks.  There are two start dates for the summer program: May 19th and June 2nd. These terms will end on July 25th and August 8th, respectively. Each member will receive a living allowance (approximately $1500) and will earn an education award of $1000 or a cash stipend of $200 upon the completion of their term. Part-Time AmeriCorps State Information AmeriCorps State members complete a set number of hours of direct service during their term.  Members receive a “Living Allowance” of $ paid every other week.  In addition, upon the completion of the term of service the member will receive an education award of $. Full-Time AmeriCorps State Information AmeriCorps State members complete 1700 hours of direct service during their term.  Members receive a “Living Allowance” of $481 paid every other week.  In addition, upon the completion of the term of service the member will receive an education award of $4,725.	None at this time
Full-Time AmeriCorps VISTA Information AmeriCorps VISTA (Volunteer In Service To America) members complete one year of service of 40 hours per week that is focused on capacity building in the organization.  Members receive a “Living Allowance” of $416.50 paid every other week.  In addition, upon the completion of the term of service the member will receive an education award of $4,725.
