Beata moved here with her husband 14 years ago from Poland. After four years her husband and she had their son Michael. It was only 6 years ago that Beata and Michael lost her husband and his dad. Since then Beata has struggled to raise her son on her own.
Currently Beata Szostak and her son Michael are living in an outdated one bedroom apartment that does not provide the comforts and safety of a home. They struggle with water problems when it rains and heating and cooling problems because the building is so old that it is highly inefficient. They also struggle with space available in their tiny one bedroom apartment.
Beata works at a cleaning service and is trying to save money. She hopes for a beautiful house with enough bedrooms for the two of them, the privacy of her own home, and the proud feeling of being a homeowner.
